The short version
This is a personal site. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no cookies. The only information that reaches me is whatever you type into the contact form and choose to send.
What the contact form collects
When you send a message, these are submitted: the name you enter, the email address you enter, the message text, and an attachment if you add one. Your IP address is visible to the service that relays the message, and is used only to rate limit abuse. It is not stored alongside the message.
Messages are delivered into a private Discord channel that I control, through a relay I run on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare and Discord process the data as part of delivering it, under their own privacy policies. Messages stay in that channel until I delete them.
What the web flasher collects
Nothing. Firmware you select is downloaded straight to your browser, and a file you choose from your own disk is read in the page. Neither is uploaded anywhere. The write to your board happens locally over USB using the Web Serial API, and the site only has access to the port you explicitly pick in the browser prompt.
Storage on your device
One entry in your browser's local storage records which colour theme you picked, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit. It contains no identifier and never leaves your browser. Clearing site data removes it.
Third parties
- The site itself is served as static files by its host.
- Contact messages pass through Cloudflare Workers and land in Discord.
- Firmware downloads, when configured, are fetched from wherever that firmware is published, which may see your IP address as any download would.
No fonts, scripts, or images are loaded from third-party CDNs. Everything the page needs is served from this domain.
Your choices
Do not use the contact form if you would rather not share those details, and reach me on Discord instead. To have a message deleted, ask and I will remove it. There is no account to close and no mailing list to unsubscribe from.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
